Our decision support projects help our clients to better use their existing resources, to reduce cost and to reducing risk when introducing new practises. Our skills include:

An example of where our decision support capability has been successfully deployed is in waste collection modelling: we have used simulation, modelling and optimisation techniques to create the leading technology used by local authorities to introduce more efficient and workable waste collection schemes.

Organisational improvement is often hindered because the information that managers need to diagnose and improve their operations is not easily available: data is often held in disconnected “islands” in formats which are inconsistent with each other.

Our skill is to design data and software systems to provide managers with the information they require to monitor and improve their operations. We develop systems which connect “islands” of data and turn them into critical diagnostic and performance information. For example our WasteManager software automatically provides the critical information required by waste managers to monitor their waste collection efficiency. It enables them to target waste collection and disposal improvement effectively and to communicate the rationale for improvement plans.
